Arrange first round matches by Sept. 1

Contact your competing team and agree on a date & time for your first round match.

Courts should be ready the week of Aug. 17.

All preliminary matches must be completed by Sept. 21, including the Bronze round.

Repeat this process for subsequent rounds as you move through the brackets:

Thanks for participating in doubles tennis! We look forward to seeing you.

HOW TO PLAY

First to win 8 games wins the match. Must be ahead by 2 games ( e.g. 8 - 6 or 9 - 7 ).

No-Ad scoring. At deuce, next point determines winner. Receiving team chooses player to receive serve.

If 8 - 8 tie, one more game decides the match. Played the same as all other games.

Finals only - if an 8 - 8 tie, teams play a 10 point tie break. Tennis Club member will help with tie break.

GETTING STARTED

Both teams bring a new can of balls to every match. Tennis Club provides balls for finals.

Fifteen minute warmup before any match. Warmup includes all strokes and serves. No first in.

Racquet spin determines first team to serve. Other team picks side of court to defend.

FORMING TEAMS

We will send out the list of players along with email addresses as soon as we receive the registered list from the Sports and Games Committee. No need to wait for this list if you already know who your partner will be.

Players form their own teams. Teams formed ASAP but no later than Saturday, Aug.1.

MATCH PLAY

Play all preliminary matches between Aug 15 and Sept 15.
